Photograph of the terracotta façade of the 1898 landmark Bayard-Condict building in Soho neighborhood of Lower Manhattan by pioneer American architect Louis Henri Sullivan, 1856-1924. A founder of the Chicago School of architecture, Louis Sullivan is called the father of modernism. Bas-relief sculpture angels decorate the cornice of the Bayard-Condict building at 65 Bleeker Street, and the steel structure is expressed with columns.
