Photograph of afternoon shadows of the World Trade Center casting shadows across lower Manhattan urban neighborhoods including SOHO, Chinatown, Little Italy, and the Lower East Side. The World Trade Center was destroyed on September 11, 2001 by terrorist attack. The East River is visible beyond the eastern shore of lower Manhattan. The neighborhoods are a mix of historic 19th century low buildings and 20th century housing blocks of red brick. Photograph from observation deck on top of WTC by Nathan Benn taken February 18, 1988.
